Short skirts for being out in the woods.  Soft leather shoes.  No shin protection.  "Why not?"  We do not mind the cuts on the legs, they are manly.

Ceremonial skirts are long, to cover the cuts.  If they are manly, why does this matter.  Things should all be soft and beautiful for ceremony.
